Reach Up Program
Reach Up is Lund's welfare to work program. As a parent-child center, Lund Family Center is designated to provide Reach Up case management services to pregnant and parenting women under the age of 24 in the towns of Burlington, So. Burlington, Williston, Richmond, Huntington, Hinesburg, St. George, and Bolton.

Reach Up
Reach Up helps families with children by providing services that support work, cash assistance for basic necessities, and health insurance. Eligibility depends on your income, resources, living expenses, who lives with you, your ability to work, and other factors:
Reach Up offers help with:
- A case manager to help you find your place in the working world.
- Identifying your skills, abilities, interests, training or education needs.
- Preparing you for work.
- Finding and affording quality childcare
- Securing and funding transportation
- Work-related costs such as clothing, tools, and supplies.
How it works
What is the first step?
A Reach Up case manager will assess your work readiness. This means looking at your skills and abilities, job interests, and training or education. We also look at anything that makes it difficult to work, such as childcare, transportation, and health or personal problems.
How will Reach Up help you get a job?
Together we’ll create your personal Family Development Plan (FDP). It maps out your work goals and the steps you’ll take to achieve them. These steps might include activities such as:
- Employment
- Job Search
- Getting a GED or high school diploma
- Training and education
- On-the-job training/ work experience.
As you work through the steps, we’ll update the plan together. A successful plan will help you meet your work requirement.
How can Reach Up help support your Family Development Plan?
Everyone’s plan will be different. We’ll look at the activities in your plan and see what support services you need to be successful. Some of the things that Reach UP can help with are:
- Childcare
- Transportation or car repairs
- Clothing
- Tools and supplies
Support services may continue even after you go to work.
