The following volunteer opportunities are great for groups, pairs or individuals. Get together and make a difference!
Office
Mailing Helper – provide assistance in folding, stuffing, sealing, and stamping envelopes for a large mailing. May be in any department. Great for groups, pairs, or individuals!
Business Office Assistant – provide clerical and reception support to Business department staff.
Transition Program Office Assistant – provide office and filing support to Transition Services Coordinator 5 hours per week. Cannot be a current or former Reach Up participant.
Development Office Assistant – provide support to busy Development department through clerical, organizational, and data entry tasks.
Web Maintenance Assistant – provide basic web maintenance by updating website information and improving our accessibility to the public through the web.
History Board Developer – utilize existing artifacts from Lund’s 117 year history to create a board dedicated to teaching visitors to our agency about the mission and community impact Lund has had through the years. Flexible based on volunteer’s schedule.
Cleaning/Outdoor Work
Playground Caretaker – provide raking and grounds keeping efforts for Glen Road site childcare playground. Great for groups, pairs, or individuals!
One-Time Events
Adoption Picnic Helper – provide creative and organizational support to the Adoption department in implementing annual Adoption Picnic in August or September (date to be determined). Activities include face painting, childcare, parking oversight, decorating, and cleaning on the day of event. Great for groups, pairs, and individuals!
Phonathon Collaborator – provide support to the Development department by helping with this annual fundraiser in Spring (date to be determined) by making calls or helping in the mailroom. No cold calls. Great for groups, pairs, or individuals!
Work at Home
Sensory Quilt Maker – Sew weighted quilts and neck/shoulder blankets for children that have sensory processing difficulties due to past trauma. Work can be done at home at your convenience! Great for groups, pairs, or individuals!
Direct Service
Childcare Assistant – provide care to children ages two weeks to three years in a supervised setting and promote child development through accredited childcare program. Time commitment required.
Caregiver – provide care to children ages two weeks to five years whose mothers are enrolled in Residential department programs and promote the development of children while the mother engages in structured programming during the day in a therapeutic setting. Time commitment required.
Evening Support Group Caregiver – provide care to children two weeks to five years while mothers engage in therapeutic support group. Several opportunities available: Evening NA groups for women in recovery, Multi-Family group to be set up on Tuesday evenings for families of all dynamics to support each other, and Aftercare group to be set up one evening per week for women transitioning out of residential treatment and transitional housing to live independently.
Activity/Class Leader – lead a group or class in a specified activity or curriculum. Group may include adolescents, adults, children, or all. May be in any department. Great for groups, pairs, or individuals!
