Parent Education

The Lund Family Center’s Residential and Community Treatment (LRCT) offers daily parenting classes to residential and community families. LRCT recruits professionals, both inside and outside the agency, to come in and teach about topics such as:

These small group settings provide the tools for women and families to support the optimal development of their children. Fathers and/or partners are encouraged to attend.  If you’re looking for more individualized teachings, three full time parent educators are available to work with you regarding specific parenting goals and identified needs.

Children’s Treatment

Comprehensive developmental screening is available for children of residential and community’s families, as well as opportunities to identify level of support services needed to reduce barriers to the optimal development of children.  Children and families work with the Children’s Treatment Coordinator, as well as three full time parent educators, to develop treatment plans and intervention strategies for all children served.  A supervised play lab is available onsite to provide opportunities to promote attachment relationships of child and parent/s. Residential and community families may also utilize the lab to work with staff around specific parenting goals. Staff provide support, education, and modeling around the importance of promoting development, engaging with your child, and responding to your child's cues.

Lund Early Childhood Program

Lund Early Childhood Program is a Vermont Licensed program that serves 28 children from two weeks to three years of age. This onsite childcare is available Monday through Friday from 7:30-5:30 and serves both residential and community families. The philosophy of the program encompasses a child-centered approach to early childhood education, in which curriculum is based off of the interests of the children.  These professionals, with early childhood education backgrounds, are also available to provide parenting support and education to women and families while working collaboratively with treatment providers to ensure optimal support.
