ADOPTING THROUGH LUND FAMILY CENTER

Lund Family Center has 115 years of experience providing adoption services. Lund has served over 10,000 people in our Adoption department since our inception and is Vermont’s largest private adoption agency. Lund is a recipient of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services 2003 Adoption Excellence Award. Our Director of Adoption Services received the 2002 Congressional Angel in Adoption Award.

Lund Family Center’s Adoption services include:

  • International Adoption- In this process we assist people in finding infants and children through other agencies which have programs in a wide variety of foreign countries.
  • Interstate Adoption- We assist people in finding children through other United States agencies.
  • Waiting Children Adoption- We assist people in locating United States waiting children. Typically, these children are older, sibling groups, children with medical or emotional disabilities, and minority children of all ages.
  • Local Adoption- In this program, families adopt infants relinquished by Vermont parents. 
  • Private Adoption Services- The Adoption Program can provide Homestudy and Post-Placement Evaluations for Vermont families who already have an identified child.

Through the entire process, Lund Family Center staff offers individualized, caring, and compassionate service to adoptive parents. You will be treated with kindness and respect.

  3. Timing- The adoption process is about matching children with parents and therefore there is not a definitive time frame. It can potentially take a few months to a few years depending on the participants. Lund’s adoptions are individualized and personal so we ask that families be patient with the process and assure you the wait is worth it.
