Holiday Giving Project
Fall is here, the leaves are flying and the nights are filled with chilled air. This year is going to be a tough year for many families, but particularly the young women and children we work with every day. The holidays are right around the corner, and Lund Family Center is preparing for its annual Holiday Giving Program. Each year, we work with our staff to identify the families most in need, and work with you, the community, to help bring joy into their worlds.
Imagine a child opening gifts for the holidays, dressed warmly, and then
sitting down for a nice family meal. For you and I, this is not a dream, but
likely a reality. For many of the families we work with, one or two of these things can happen, but often they cannot afford to make all three happen at once. I am hoping that you will again help us to help the most vulnerable this year. Last year, through the support of caring community citizens and companies, we were able to help over 100 families. We were able to bring many smiles to many faces during this special time of year and it was all because of people like yourselves. We expect that the need will be the same or greater this year.
Even if you can't help a whole family or group of children, consider gas or gift cards in any amount. For some of the teenagers we work with this is the best gift of all - a chance to choose something for themselves, or give them the chance to get to visit family that might be too far away.
As always, we appreciate your support, time and caring for our kids!
